Jeannie O'Connor

Jeannie O'Connor's work has been shown internationally (India, Germany, Spain, Italy and England) and was awarded the SECA award by SFMOMA and the Phelan Award in Photography. She has also been awarded 3 California Arts Council Residencies, and a Best of ASMP award.
With an MA in Art from UC Berkeley, Jeannie O'Connor taught art and photography at CCA, SF Art Institute and Berkeley City College.

Her work has been associated with the Michael Shapiro Gallery, the Kimpton Gallery, the Susan Spiritus Gallery, KALA Gallery and the SFMOMA Artists Gallery.
Her work is in many collections, including the Bibliotheque Nationale, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Center for Creative Photography, the Bancroft Library, and the SF Public Library. Her work has been published in the Friends of Photography Magazine, PDN , Tricycle Magazine, ZZYZZVA, Telemundo, SF Chronicle Sunday Magazine, and the SFMOMA Seca Award Catalog.
O’Connor has been awarded an artist residency at the Escuela del Arte de Talavera, Spain, ( 2016) and at Sanskriti Kendra in Delhi, India. (2013).

O’Connor’s work has followed 2 paths: the portrait, and a mixed media process incorporating paint and collage with the photographic image.
