Joeann was born on Christmas Eve when welcoming lights and colors are
everywhere. A perfect introduction into the world of creative imagination.
Being an only child left plenty of alone time to imagine….
Her degree in Psychology didn’t offer the creative mind the challenges and
information that her subsequent classes in art and design fulfilled.
Although psych classes did give her a life long interest in human behavior
including her own.
So began her career in the film industry as a stylist for wardrobe, makeup
and props for Feature Films, Documentaries, Commercials and Corporate
films.-FUN. This fulfilled the need to create and imagine. She began
taking photos of her two sons and production stills at an early age and
continued with this medium with mentors from commercial
photographer, David Cornwell, and Pulitzer Prize news photographer, Ron
Edmonds. Achieving awards and numerous Gallery exhibits.
Joeann’s tendency is to capture what ever catches her eye with the
imagined goal of turning it into something else.
This current Abstraction exhibit shows the results of photographs of an
ordinary construction fence turned into forms and concepts as examples
of her imagination and experimentation.
“Imagine if you will”… is her favorite rule.
