America's storytelling tradition is expansive, born out of countless colliding, merging, and overlapping storylines. As an immigrant, coming from a country with old stories, I find myself at a strange intersection, keenly aware of the tangled storylines of my adopted homeland, and the anxiety that the lack of a coherent national narrative provokes in my fellow Americans,
