This painting is about my grandfather who passed from cancer during quarantine. The green smoke surrounding her is meant to be his second life. He lives in our memories, in the objects I connect to him, and in a spiritual sense. Knowing he’s there without seeing him. The detailed yellow suns behind my grandma reinforce the idea that he may be dead but it’s not the end of his life.
