A painting of my daughter, enjoying her favorite drink, a Shirley temple. It is painted from a photograph taken on a family vacation; one which I had printed in black & white. During lockdown I spent time revisiting our most treasured times. I came to realize that this moment, the memories of our trip, my daughter's age in the photo and the act of enjoying a Shirley Temple can all be wrapped up in the color of the grenadine... the very color transports you to that remarkably unique flavor and experience. This painting helped me realize that so much of what my daughter is feeling and experiencing at any given moment is expressed through her eyes; and she is one of the most observant people
