Kristal Ambrose is an activist born in the Bahamas fighting for awareness and change, as plastic in the ocean is polluting the water and killing the ecosystem. This plastic is washing up on the pristine beaches that make the Bahamas what they are and becoming toxic. I chose to highlight environmental activists through a portrait of Kristal Ambrose because I have a personal connection with the ocean and appreciate what Kristal and other activists are doing to protect the ocean. Showing one person who went above and beyond to protect the ocean so I chose to represent her with aspects of the ocean being polluted with trash. Creating this artwork I realized how my impact matters on the world.
