This is a watercolor portrait of my late mother. I decided to paint her to honor her memory for International Women's Day. She was an amazing artist! Her love of art and creative spirit influenced me in a positive way throughout my life, motivating me as an artist. I used a black and white photo taken in the 1940s as my reference. I believe she was in her early twenties at the time it was taken.
