Almost all of my pictures of people are derived from photos, frequently not my own.
Patie is a remarkable woman who worked for decades as a welder, seen here in her welding clothes, and sourced from her own fairly droll selfie. In this watercolor portrait on Yupo I had hoped to indicate the self-possession and humor of one of my most oldest friends, as well as my affection for her.
