This TYVEK paper cutout portrait of Dr. Walter Alvarez was the matrix that I created for the fabrication of the copper cutout portrait commissioned by the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC. Dr. Walter Alvarez, a geologist at UC Berkeley, developed the theory for the reason for the extinction of the dinosaurs 6 million years ago.
