I chose to represent two of my daughters in the endless hours we spent while waiting for my sister to die from cancer. What seems like a scene devoid of tension was actually extremely emotionally heavy. It helped to capture the feeling that life continues to unfold even as a death occurs. The detachment of observing my children during this transitional time in our lives allowed me to process my own feelings.
