I chose to represnet Samuel LaBudde for his efforts saving dolphins and other marine life. He won the the Goldman Environmental Prize in 1991 for these reasons. I also connect to him personally because he is from San Francisco, which is the same area I am from. His career started with him spending six months at sea filming tuna fishermen luring and killing dolphins. Doing this, he exposed the largest slaughter of marine mammals in history which led to a successful boycott. This forced major tuna brands to switch to dolphin safe fishing methods. He brought the video to court and the U.S. Congress enacted bans on this type of tuna fishing and imports on fish caught by using dolphins as bait.
