This is in essence a self portrait. It represents the state of the contemporary mind, my own mind, disrupted, disconnected, floating in space while managing its presence between the digital and physical world. Todays portrait is different as now we can be whoever we want to be, however we want to be perceived; masked by filters, shiny and beautified, smoothed out, curated and gloriously presented by design, while ultimately distorted and distanced from our authentic selves. This reconstructed self portrait is an amalgamation of other people, drawing information and fragments from advertising and art history to create a brand new exotic self.
