This illustration is from a series I created for the book "Breadth of Bodies: Discussing Disability in Dance.” The book is a collection of interviews with 35 dance artists with disabilities from 15 countries. The artists talk about training, access, press, and the state of the field. This original pencil and marker portrait and quote is Korean breakdancer Jungsoo "Krops" Lee. I created this after watching many videos of Krops dancing. After studying and drawing Krops, I could see how his breakdancing is very grounded, into the earth, smooth, and fluid. He’s like a river stone, tumbling in space. For more: http://stanceondance.com/discussing-disability-in-dance/
