I spent two months sequestered in Elaine De Kooning's studio, summer of 2021. My final week, with only myself and Elaine for company, I began a series of conversational self portraits. Each evening, after an eight hour painting session, I made a self portrait. It was my way of claiming and documenting my time in this most glorious studio.
