Woman's hair being pulled by a bird this triptych. This is the center panel.
I painted and carved this piece to show the melancholy of people who work hard but are sad about not getting recognition or reward. The left panel shows a woman tossing bread on to water, "casting your bread upon the waters". The bird is pulling the melancholy woman's hair to get her to see the right side panel of this triptych to cheer her up, as the right panel depicts many desserts floating on water toward the viewer. I learned about human - animal affection and kindness when conceiving and making this piece and how it might be good for us humans to be open to an animal's awareness.
