Lou-Amélie is the niece of a friend of mine. A year ago, during a party in Brittany, among the fifty guests, this young girl remained alone. The other young people did not speak with her. She seemed sad. It reminded me of the painting "Orphan Girl at the Cemetery" by Eugène Delacroix. I asked her if she would like to strike the same pose. I photographed her. From the photo I made a small oil painting on paper. And Amélie-Lou smiled.
