I felt trapped and isolated during the cold, dark, wet, early days of shelter-in-place.

One day, I went out to the park and found the roller skaters were still there. Fewer in number, and wearing masks, it was nonetheless a great comfort to see them their, enjoying the routine of human activity, and expressing joy through motion.

I've met with them, chatted with them, but don't know any of them by name. I could sit and sketch, enjoy the music, and forget about the virus for an hour or two. They restored hope to me, in a hopeless time.
