I chose to represent myself initially because I was struck by the simplicity of my image in the mirror. Having just taken a shower, I loved seeing the anonymous head floating over the concrete body, paired with beautiful color.
I hadn't done a self-portrait in a while, and seeing myself this way was shamelessly discreet. Three differing facets of me are considered: the sliver of me that I share with the world, the truth of my 70 year ofd body, and the me you can't see reveling in an ocean of color and marks.
