2020 and 2021 were very trying years. Staying and working from home with minimal interaction with friends and family. There were travel restrictions as well. On Mother’s Day I was missing home (India) and my family very much. I decided to make a portrait of my mother. The photograph of my Mother was taken when she was 21 years old. She was pregnant with me. The original photo has faded quit a lot. I was learning to make portraits and learning to paint skin. I’m not sure if I got the right shade of her skin but Mom loved the portrait I made of her. She keeps asking me when I will visit, she is waiting for me to go home. Hence I named her portrait “Waiting for you”
