Organizing old photos during Covid, I found this photo from 15 years ago. The girls are cousins, visiting their grandmother and playing with the eiderdown cover. Unfortunately, the cousins' families are now estranged, due to differing political values. I wanted to remind myself that there was a time when everyone was happy and had fun together, so I made a painting out of the photo to remember life "before."
