This is a picture of my son and his friend at a favorite restaurant on a Friday afternoon. What I like about the picture is how engrossed the boys are in their own little world. I think it defines adolescent friendship. My goal as an artist is to capture these small moments in life that get relegated to cell phone pictures, digital memories often stored away and rarely looked at again. I want to give them a sense of permanence, depth and beauty.
