I'm a professional and was commissioned by Christian's father to paint the portrait. He wanted Christian to see himself through the eyes of an accomplished artist and based on a chance meeting he decided that I was the artist for the job. I got to know the subject during the course of the work and succeeded in bringing out an aspect of his character and personality that resonated with everyone concerned. Christian is an interesting and highly intelligent young man on the beginning of his journey. I feel that I've succeeded in marking a step along that path.
