I wanted to capture my husband's (at the time my boyfriend) uncanny way of being. We were seeing a show in SF but had some time to kill, so my husband (boyfriend) encouraged me to explore the neighborhood. I followed him, noticing his wild brunette curls bouncing around under his top hat, how he awkwardly tromped around in his trench coat, and his pipe that billowed smoke rings non-stop. He was/is the most unique human I met! We went down an alley way that had crazy colored artifacts hanging from the residences' homes, I told him "Wait! I've got to take a picture of you in front of this wall! I painted him from that memory. I knew I wanted to be in his adventure and curiosity forever.
