What is "beauty" and who determines what beauty is? I, and many females, learned from a very young age, and into older age (I am 72 years young), what is valued and expected of us. The eyes of this young woman are my interpretation of what she feels about herself as she looks in the mirror and attempts to meet the expectations of society. My drawing is best expressed by my friend Joni when she wrote: "It makes me think of a person who is imprisoned by their vanity and need to look presentable in everyone's eyes. Restricted by the mirror and what she sees in it." Let us learn to value our true inner beauty and say "we are enough, at every age".
