In the early nineties I held a weekly drawing group in my studio apartment. Three of the five who attended were named Sara/h. Over a three year period, we cajoled everyone we knew to come sit for us—friends, love interests, siblings, parents, and acquaintances who we thought had great faces. This friend of Sarah was a nurse and had a sweet face and a kind heart. I still run into her, and other subjects from thirty years ago.
