1940s

This is a photo of my grandmother on her front stoop in Perry, Iowa in the mid-1940s. The neighborhood children are around and my grandmother, Verna is looking at my mother, Sara. I imagine it's a hot summer day by the look of the bare feet. I like the relaxed feeling of catching what was probably a typical day for them. No one is alive for me to ask about the day or who took the photo. I assume it was probably my grandfather or a neighbor mom.
