While researching ancient goddesses for an article I was writing, I was inspired to create my own goddess. Painting her was a spiritual experience for me; as she took shape on my canvas, she seemed to come alive, especially the eyes and mouth, like she wanted to communicate. I felt like she was whispering to me the whole time. I've never had an experience like that with any other painting.
