I liked the idea of making a classical drawing of a woman wearing a beer can hat who did not fit the mold of classical beauty. While making this drawing I began to see her Roman bone structure and realized that she was actually quite a classical model. Although we were close friends, I began to better understand the fragile and vulnerable side that coexists alongside the humor and bravado.
