Each year I document myself in at least one portrait. In 2021 I was feeling worn out and tired, relying on whiskey frequently but never overindulging. I paint people as a modern document of our society. Fleeting moments that last internally, but with the flair of dramatic palettes. It was important to myself to document the feeling of the year and how I was relating to the world around me with the hopes of letting go and moving on.
