In July 2019 I was invited by a Haida woman to visit Hydaburg Alaska to photograph their culture camp and totem raising. The central reason for this event was to celebrate the Indigenous culture. Dylan is a member of the Raven moiety and I photographed him in regalia. He must walk in two worlds respecting his traditional culture and well as thriving in the dominant European based world. Addendum: Due to COVID he was unable to get a senior picture for his zoom high school graduation. He used this one.
