The painting is an image of friends of mine that showcases the tenderness and comfort of maternal love, both the receiving aspect and giving aspect of this type of love. The composition has the two figures settled amongst the soft pillows, with the young girl nestled safely in her mother's lap. The mother is positioned above the whimsical young girl dressed in a cape with white gloves and a bouquet of wildflowers. I wanted to somehow capture the two friends' gentleness and beauty, which are two qualities that make me feel better in my day to day life.
