"Allie" is my ten-minute charcoal and chalk encounter with a still beautiful woman in her late 70's. Lean and angled, Allie projected both seasoned presence and vulnerability. Nothing rattles my bones like confronting a model, face to face, in real life. Laden with expectations, both model's and mine, life drawing is like working without a net. In truth I'm drawing myself and my response as much as I'm drawing the model. So, in this youth obsessed culture, while I consider just how much that eyelash might weigh, I know both Allie and I are staking a claim to be seen.
