I created this self portrait in community from photographic reference of the aftermath of a performance piece we made in collaboration pre-pandemic. While in isolation in my studio during shelter in place, making this painting grounded me with the memory of the intimacy we were able to share in our moment of tenderness, and how I wished to hang on to this memory and cherish it indefinitely. They became my friends in the studio that I could spend time with when no-one else could be there.
