These portraits are a selection among the many created for a solo show at the TL Museum last September to November as part of an art residency. I set up a table just inside the museum where I could be seen from the street, and put a sandwich board out front to invite people in. While they sat ( an average of 25-30 minutes) I painted them and they opened up. What became clear to me is that a chance to be seen, acknowledged and treated like a human was just as important, if not more, than the portraits themselves. After the sitting, I gave them the portraits. These are photos of them.
