This self-portrait was drawn from a photograph taken of me around 1973 while I was an art student at the School of the Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts. Fast forward almost 50 years and I am rediscovering my artistic side after mostly ignoring it for all these years. I chose to draw myself from a different time because it reminds me that I need not be afraid to delve into the world of art again. It is a safe place where those I love will cheer me on. My only critic has been myself and I am capable of cheering myself on. There are no mistakes or failures only endless discoveries.
