This is a portrait of my sister Jackie. Although it is in color, it has an accidental resemblance to a portrait of Alice Neel made by the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.
For me the portrait is bittersweet, a frank representation of someone I've known since childhood—aging gracefully.
