I listened to the proceedings and questioning of Ketanji Brown Jackson all the way through and was practically in tears listening to what horrid questioning and manners she endured. I was so moved by her dignity, strength and bravery she demonstrated. I'm a Caucasian woman of 73 and I know I would not have had the stamina to take the insults, anger and bigotry directed at me. She, once again, showed me what it takes for women of color to keep moving toward their heart's desire, all the way accomplishing so much . I wanted to do a portrait of her, and ended up with three faces showing her essences of what I experienced while listening to her in those proceedings. She is one of my heroes.
