These three Rwandan women were part of a larger photograph of a procession of people heading down a hill toward downtown Kigali. I singled them out for my artwork because they provided a range of emotions to capture. The young woman wears a wistful expression. The middle-aged woman appears to be annoyed and the elderly woman is downright angry. The vivid colors in their outfits provides a vibrant contrast to the earthy background tones.
