In 2021 I created a series of portrait drawings of different people who embraced alternative lifestyles. My goal was to explore ways to minimally express an attitude of freedom and independence, as well as to achive a likeness of the person. I became particularly interested in radical hairstyles and piercings. The model is unknown to me, and the drawing done from an anonymous personal photo found on Pinterest. The model was happy with her new haircut, and I wanted to express the feelings involved in that.
