The superhero genre has always spoken to me. Powerful figures with not only the capability, but the compulsion to help those in danger or need – something we see far too little of in life, an ideal in which to aspire, especially in our current political climate.
Here, I have used the image of Melissa Benoist, the TV Supergirl, as I would any traditional or personal symbol. she represents strength, hope, empathy – the better angels of our nature.
