I wanted to draw Dan as part of a long-term project depicting the work of the Chevra Kadisha, those who prepare Jews for their burial. Dan is a member of our community and I asked him to pose for me so that I could get to know him and his face in preparation for a painting. He delighted me with his warmth and charm, and I hope that I was able to portray those qualities. Plus, he has all that beautiful hair!
