This is a self portrait. I’d completed 6 months of chemo therapy for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and my hair was growing back. To overcome the cancer and the treatments, at least a half hour a day of hard laughter was prescribed to me by my acupuncturist. And I did that. Mickey Mouse accompanies me in this portrait to represent that prescription. I chose this portrait because it reminds me of the power of laughter as medicine.
