As a gay man and a painter, I have begun a series that I call Love and Affection. The subject is the love and affection that may exist between men. This may include the love and affection between two gay men or between men in general, unrelated to sexual orientation. However, much of what I want to do with this series is to dispel the common notion that gay men are not as inclined to express or even capable of tender feelings for one another. As boys growing up in our culture, we are often raised to be competitive and to suppress our feelings. This has led to a lot of misfortune for individuals and society in general. I am posting this photo here in commemoration of Gay Pride month.
